General entrance fees will be waived at Carlsbad Caverns National Park on June 9 in celebration of National Get Outdoors Day.
At Carlsbad Caverns, the general entry fee includes two cave tours — the Natural Entrance and Big Room. Fees for audio guides and ranger-guided tours will still apply. “Healthy, active, outdoor fun is what National Get Outdoors Day is all about,” said Carlsbad Caverns National Park Superintendent John Benjamin, “and touring a cool cave is a great way to be active on a hot New Mexico day.”
The temperature inside Carlsbad Cavern is 56 degrees, year-round, so long sleeves or a jacket is recommended. Normally, the general entry price is $6 per adult, 16 and older. Children 15 and younger are always free and must be accompanied by an adult. Whether underground or outside, with a park ranger or on your own, there are many things to do and see at Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
