Auriga 2.04 released

A new version of the Auriga cave surveying software is released. Current version 2.04:
New features
  • timestamp of survey shot updated when its geographic position, measure or measure-related attributes are changed
  • in Export form, when changing the default name of the export file, if this file already exists, an alert is popped up before overwriting it
  • in the SVG map export, when exporting only selected survey shots, the automatic export scale is computed based on the selection size
  • in the SVG map export, the scale can be determined by the user as long as it remains suitable with the exported map and paper sizes
  • when using the Text tool in sketch, the Auriga Keypad opens in its previous layout (alphabetic or numeric)
  • option "Recount Session Shots" added in Caves view of Operations form
  • option "Full Screen Cave Map" moved from Preferences to Display forms for consistency
  • Auriga preferences can now be backed up and restored from memory card when called from Main form
  • cave origin station displayed as a landmark in Map if not on 0,0,0
  • streak-free Map move in Pan mode
  • if only one loop in the cave, it is automatically set as the current loop for analysis
  • in the Loops view of the Operations form, the "Export as New Cave" option now allows to select the target cave category
Bug fixes
  • in Sketching mode, the "Full Screen Cave Map" option in Preferences was not well ignored, sometimes hiding controls in Map when zooming the Map, sketches would sometimes not be redrawn
  • in black Map background, the scale could appear highlighted
  • in black Map background, after selecting a sketch color, the sketch tools could disappear
  • sketches drawn in Extended profile did not follow the direction of development when it changed
  • upon returning from the Paper tab in the (line plot) Export form, the Card checkbox did not reappear when relevant
  • sometimes, with the Auriga-computed scale, the Map would appear truncated in the SVG export
  • wrong passage heights exported in hidden DXF layer in Top view
  • using the Auriga Keypad to input cave names in a network could crash
  • beaming one or more selected caves from Main form did not work well
  • the new loop alert could pop up in Survey Shot form after saving an already existing survey shot
  • in very odd cases, the Selection form could crash after changing the viewed cave category filter
  • the Auriga Keypad could not be opened from the Measures form
  • in the Measures form, upon saving a survey shot form with no backsight, the azimuth and slope fields would get cleared
  • when applying the "Associate to Session" operation, the number of shots in sessions were not updated
  • selecting survey shots from Map no longer worked
  • the "Accept Dubious Data" preference was not saved
  • the List form would not always scroll to the currently selected line on devices with a virtual Graffiti area
  • networks built from caves with origin XYZ corresponding to geographic coordinates linked with the "Use Cave Origin as Offset" type did not appear properly ordered in Map
  • beaming a network and its caves would fail

Version 2.04 now allows sketching in left-extended profile and later change the direction of development without experiencing display problems. If you had sketched in left-extended profile with an earlier version, you must follow these instructions to fix those sketches:

Install version 2.04
Save the PDB cave file (on the SD card or via HotSync) as a backup in case of a problem
Open the cave in Auriga and select a left-extended profile in Cave Details

either, if you only have a few survey shots or sketches to change:

Display the Map in extended profile
Select self-adjusted sketch elements in extended profile and convert them into fixed sketch elements (with the Element Details form)

or, if you have a large number or sketches to change:

Open the Main form
Select the cave that must be fixed
Open the Operations form (with the Cave/Operations menu)
Apply the "Self-adjust Sketch->Fixed" option of the "Shots" view

Open the Main form
Select the cave that must be fixed
Open the Operations form (with the Cave/Operations menu)
Apply the "Flip Sketches" option of the "Shots" view

Note: If only part of the cave must be flipped, it can be done through a Selection (see manual) or an export of that part into an empty cave, later merged back into the original cave after the exported survey shots were removed from it.
