Oregon Caves Increasing visitor numbers

Oregon Caves National Monument near Cave Junction generated about $6.5 million and 62 jobs through direct and indirect spending in 2010, based on a recent nationwide visitor spending analysis.

“We are proud to be members of the Southern Oregon community and of our contributions to the local economy,” said Oregon Caves Superintendent Vickie Snitzler.

She and Craig Ackerman, Crater Lake National Park superintendent, said both parks work closely with the Southern Oregon Visitors Association and Travel Oregon to increase the number of visitors and lengthen their stays
